i have a new dell e520. came preloaded with vista home basic.(had to buy it, dual core, 2 gig of ram, 19 flat screen, dvd writer the lot...319 quid!!!) the simple question is how can i make it dual boot with xp? i have an xp pro corporate disc. the machine came with vista home basic 32 bit reinstallation dvd. if i could be arsed to reload everything i would get rid of vista all together, but actually it runs really well, it is some sites (toontown (thanks disney!!!)) and other software (sims2) it has probs with. they run fine on xp. hence the need for dual boot. anybody give me an idiots guide. or indeed opinions on whether they think this is a good idea. i wanted to add a hard drive from my old machine, which has xp etc on it. (motherboard/graphics card are buggered). i opened up the dell and can't see a way of fiitng another hard drive as there are no spare cables that will fit the back of the hard drive. they are different. so there is the prob to ponder. prob really simple, but read bits about xp refusing to load, blue screens and necessity of clean install etc etc. Any thoughts peeps?
any help as ever much appreciated
cheers
gav
